Celebrity Check Plus: Kristen Bell in Etro at the Do Something Awards
Kristen Bell looked fabulous at Sunday night’s Do Something awards. She wore a black embellished Etro dress, Casadei pumps and Neil Lane jewels–and she looked amazing! It’s no secret I’m a big fan (I watched ‘You Again’ twice!) but she was by far the best dressed on the Do Something Awards red carpet.
Isn’t the embellishment gorgeous? And I think the one-shoulder design is really fun and unique. Etro always makes such cool clothing. I lovelovelove it! What do you think: Do you like Bell’s dress?
Fashion Yay or Nay: Jumpsuits
At the premiere of ‘The Change-Up’ in Los Angeles Monday night, Sandra Bullock made a surprise appearance on the red carpet–wearing a strapless, full-length black Lanvin jumpsuit. More and more celebrities are appearing on red carpets in full-length jumpsuits–which begs the question: are they cute?
Here are a couple recent looks. What do you think?
Sandra Bullock in Lanvin
Olivia Wilde in Emporio Armani
Kristen Bell in TopShop
Kim Kardashian in Roberto Cavalli
After reviewing the different looks, I’ve decided I’m not a big fan of the full-length jumpsuit. That said, of those pictured, Sandra and Kirsten rock the look best. Olivia looks like she’s about to grant somebody three wishes, Jessica looks like a tablecloth and Kim looks… well… ridiculous.
Shorter jumpsuits, however, don’t bother me as much. This one is actually really cute.

Designer Line I Love: Notte by Marchesa
Every awards season I always find myself swooning over Marchesa dresses. They are always the most intricate, most beautiful gowns on the red carpet. Sadly, they also have a price tag around $4,000. Spending that much for a dress is simply not happening in my lifetime. (Unless, of course, the novel I haven’t even begun writing becomes a huge blowout success and a movie is made out of it and for some reason I’m nominated for an Oscar for ‘Best Book to Become a Movie’… THEN maybe I’ll drop four grand on a dress. It could happen.)
Anyway, much to my delight, designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig released a lower end line several years ago called Notte by Marchesa. The dresses are in the $700 range and still kinda out of my range but they just seem more attainable at that price point. Here are a few dresses from the line. What do you think?
(Note: For some reason, all these models are in ridiculous poses. Don’t let that sway your opinions of the gorgeous dresses they’re wearing.)

Red-Carpet Review: Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Horrible Bosses’ Premiere Dresses
Jennifer Aniston just finished making the international rounds for her ‘Horrible Bosses’ press tour and I thought it’d be fun to review her different looks.
Jennifer Aniston at Los Angeles ‘Horrible Bosses’ Premiere
As a huge sequins fan, I want to really love this dress. And while I think it’s cute, I’m not in love with it. She seems to be standing weird in it and it’s not the most flattering frock in the world.
Jennifer Aniston at London ‘Horrible Bosses’ Premiere
This stone-grey dress is pretty amazing–and those Tom Ford shoes! They are gorgeous.
Jennifer Aniston at London Press Call for ‘Horrible Bosses’
This dress is FAB-U-LOUS! The cut is extremely flattering and it’d fun to see Aniston sporting some leather. The strappy heels look stellar too.
Emma Watson’s Fashion Faceoff: LBD vs. Long & Tiered
I’m consistently impressed by the gorgeous looks Emma Watson pulls together for the red carpet. She’s been a fashion darling for several years now and it’s been exciting to see her choices on the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows press tour.
This short Rafael Lopez black and lace dress is just stunning on Watson. It fits her well, it’s a good length for her (not too short, not too long) and she seems to be having fun wearing it. And the belt is the perfect finishing touch. (The Chanel heels aren’t hurting either.)
For the big London premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Thursday, Watson wore a tiered Oscar de la Renta gown. While I understand the event necessitated something a bit more formal than the black frock she wore the day before, I’m not a huge fan of this dress. The bodice is beautiful but I don’t love the color or the tiers–she appears washed out and matronly.
What do you think? Which dress do you like more?
